A Wife, A Mom, Getting It All Done in A Day

As a wife and a mom, it is hard to get everything done.  There is housework, meals, activities, and if you work outside the home, your career work. We moms wear many hats. In the January blog, I shared an organization plan to help manage our homes efficiently. I discussed a daily plan (morning and evening), a weekly plan for weekly chores, and a monthly plan for deep cleaning areas. Recently, I visited a YouTube channel that talked about this topic. She has simplified her daily routine into time blocks. I thought this simplified home organization. I used her time block plan and put my daily routine into these blocks. I felt this streamlined my daily, weekly, and monthly routine into manageable slots that felt less overwhelming. I encourage you to check out Hopewell Heights YouTube Vlog, “ How I Homeschool, Homestead, & Run a Blog and YouTube Channel as a Mom of 5!” Click on the link below to view.

After watching this vlog, I reviewed my organization chart and changed my daily routine to blocks. In each block I combined morning and evening routines with my weekly and monthly chores. This removed the complexities from my daily routine.  I would encourage you to look at your current routine and see if blocks might be the solution you are looking for.

My current routine with blocks:

BLOCK 1 7:00-9:30

Spend time in prayer with my Heavenly Father for guidance for the day before getting out of bed.

These times are not written in stone. I change as I need to. If I need to spend longer, I do. If I need a rest break, I take it. I try to be flexible. Life happens, we may have an activity that comes up, or an appointment that is needed, or we are simply tired and need a rest day. This is meant to be flexible to work for you not against you. Remember that when we are happy, our haven is happy.

I hope this will bless you with your journey as the keeper of your haven. Please check out the link below from Hopewell Heights.
